Beschreibung
We describe a performance simulation methodology for multicore processor systems asynchronously accessing memory with the appropriate semantic being specified by the workload. The methodology combines concepts from high-level performance modeling with concepts known from detailed (low-level or cycle-accurate) performance simulations frequently applied in the domain of processor design. We will then outline, how this "mesoscale" methodology can be applied to simulate the asynchronous memory access of multicore processor systems. We will describe the implementation of this methodology to simulate performance of workloads executed on the Cell/B.E. processor and report on the results.
